Mitsubishi Corporation, having been inspired by His Majesty the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said’s belief that education and human resources cultivation are essential to the further development of Oman, and wishing to contribute to the development of the country, established a scholarship program that provides financial assistance to Omani students that have been selected by Oman’s Ministry of Higher Education (up to 4 students per year) to pursue masters or doctoral studies at graduate schools in Japan.

In 2009, Mitsubishi Corporation and Oman’s Ministry of Higher Education signed the agreement for the Mitsubishi Corporation Scholarship Program, and subsequently concluded additional agreements to extend the program for five years in 2015, and another five years again in 2020.

As of end 2022, Mitsubishi Corporation has provided scholarships for a total of 33 students, who have studied at Kyoto University, Osaka University, Waseda University, Keio University and other major universities in Japan.

Mitsubishi Corporation organizes alumni events to maintain and strengthen the expanding network of scholarship graduates.
